When we buy a new or second computer but lost the CD driver, naturally we would have trouble finding drivers for our motherboard. Some motherboards do have a device driver that is "plug n play", meaning that when finished the install, all direct drivers to function properly. But if not? Of course we will be frantically looking for our motherboard drivers if its any kind of motherboard we do not know.
Here, some tips to determine what kind of motherboard or determine the type of device driver us:
1. Turn on the computer, so the computer reads "BEP" quickly press Pause Button - Break on the keyboard. Monitor will display as below.
Look in the lower left corner, below the words "Press DEL to run Setup". Yup! it was kind of our motherboards. We find we are the type of motherboard chipset P2B using i440BX. Write on the paper, or memorized. Searching on Google to find the driver.
Another example:
Did you find what type of motherboard you? Yes, MCP68. That type of your motherboard. Now you can find your driver in mr.Google.
2. In some types of motherboards, Windows can detect the type of your motherboard. Let's try it, if you read motherboard types in Windows. Run to the start menu - run. Typing dxdiag in the Run menu. Then will look as follows.
You can read there:
- System Manufacturer: VIA Technologies, Inc..
- System Model: KT600
You can search in Google by keywords VIA KT600 or KT600.
3. When the above two ways you can not find, the next you have to do is unpack your casing to see what kind of motherboard. Several types of the motherboard Motherboard wrote Motherboard in his boards. An example below:
Obvious type of your motherboard, ASUS P5W64 WS PRO. Again, search on Google, or your subscription driver site.
4. This last alternative. When the above three ways you can not find the type of driver you are, then you have to look for each driver to see its chipset. To determine the VGA driver, you see VGA chipset, and to determine the driver Sound, you see the Sound chipset.
The picture above is the Chipset Sound, what type of sound you are ES6698FD. Thus tips from me to know the type of motherboard and locate your motherboard drivers. Hope it helps.
